Hello, thank you for stopping by here! I am Rosa Simkin, and I’m a freelance journalist based in Warwickshire, England. I now am a first year journalism student at Cardiff University!
In a clichéd kind of way sport has always been a major passion of mine, starting from when I was nine and attending cricket with my older sibling Mae at Edgbaston.
Since then, an awful lot has changed. I’ve discovered my love for women’s sport as a complete package whether that be covering cricket, football, rugby and more or playing cricket with my club side.
As a young woman in the media I have witnessed first hand the under-representation of women in sports from the ground up; whether that be alongside myself in the press box, out on the pitch, on our TVs, on our news platforms etc. So, I decided to create this platform to break the bias surrounding women within sports and shine a light on all those within it, travelling around the country to offer a platform to the incredible female athletes that the UK has to offer.
In my short career I’ve become a leading face in women’s cricket media, covering games across Tier 1 – 3 in county cricket, The Hundred, Internationals and most recently the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 where I covered 11 teams as media, including attending the Final at Lord’s. I hold bylines in The Cricketer, The Cricket Paper, The Wisden Almanack & More, commentate for Glamorgan & Warwickshire, produce a monthly women’s county magazine, and host a weekly women’s cricket podcast with current Northants player Chloe Hill. In short, the summer is a busy old time!
